The Story Behind Our Mugen Toreiru (Dream Trail) Collection

Every collection starts with a question. For this one, it was: what if a trail could feel like stepping into another world entirely?

The Meaning Behind the Name

"Mugen Toreiru" blends the Japanese word for "infinite" or "dream-like" (Mugen, 夢幻) with "Trail" — the idea of a trail without a real ending, one that exists somewhere between the physical woods and a half-remembered dream. It's less a literal place and more a feeling: that specific, slightly unreal moment on a good ride when the light hits just right and the trail seems to stretch on forever.

Where the Inspiration Came From

This collection blends Japanese fantasy art traditions with MTB culture — cel-shaded illustration, dramatic light, a sense of motion and wonder pulled straight from anime aesthetics, applied to something as grounded as a mountain bike trail. It's a combination that doesn't exist much in the MTB apparel space, which is exactly why we wanted to build it.

Walking Through the Design Elements

Each piece in the collection leans on a few consistent visual ideas:

  • Glowing, dreamlike forest scenery — trails rendered with an otherworldly light, like the woods are lit from somewhere just out of frame
  • Motion and speed lines — borrowed directly from anime action framing, applied to riders instead of characters
  • A sense of scale — small rider figures against big, atmospheric landscapes, capturing how it actually feels to be out on a huge trail system

Who This Collection Is For

This one's for riders who already feel like their best trail days have a slightly magical, hard-to-explain quality to them — the ones who've tried to describe a perfect ride to a non-rider friend and settled for "you just had to be there." Mugen Toreiru is our attempt to put that feeling on a shirt.
